HOW TO DONATE
The cost of running a hospital and orphan centre even in countries like Malawi or Sri Lanka are substantial. During our initial stages we plan to set up an income generating operation that will eventually finance part of the daily operating expenses. For instance the maize mill and the nutritional food project will eventually generate some income. Yet, there will be daily requirements to assist the continued operation of such facilities. Even though the expected expenses will be significant, much can be done in these countries with little. For instance, the cost of providing necessary medical services for an average patient will be less than $20.00 per patient. Yet, the cost of running the hospital and to purchase the necessary pharmaceutical items as well as the feeding programs at the orphan centres is expected to be $12,200 per month. This is not including the cost of the doctors as these are funded through their own organizations in Europe, U.S.A. and South Africa. The cost of providing food and necessary medicine for a patient is $18.00 per week. At BCO we have established what we like to refer to as the 500 CLUB in an effort to encourage 500 donors to make a monthly donation of $25,00. This will enable the hospital to cover its normal operating expenses. Other funds can then be utilized to replace worn out equipment such as wheelchair, stretchers, operating theatre tables and other much needed hospital equipment.
